      Composition<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      Each Capsule contains: Lutein (Eq to 300 mcg of Zeaxanthin) 10 mg, Beta Carotene equivalent to Vitamin A 5000 IU, Vitamin C coated equivalent to Vitamin C 75 mg, Vitamin E acetate equivalent to Vitamin E 12.5 mg, Zinc Oxide equivalent to Zinc 7.5 mg, Sodium Selenite equivalent to Selenium 35 mcg, Chromium Polynicotinate equivalent to Chromium 50 mcg.<\/p>\n

      Pharmacology and pharmacokinetics functions of the product<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      Free radical induced damage plays a role in multiple diseases and degenerative processes. Studies suggest that carotenoids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, synergistically retard some of the destructive processes in the retina that lead to age related degeneration of the macula. Lutein and Zeaxanthin, filter out potentially photo toxic blue light and near ultraviolet radiation from the macula. Beta-carotene function as an antioxidant, scavenge peroxyl radicals and inhibit lipid peroxidation. The protective effect is due to the reactive oxygen species quenching ability of these carotenoids. Ascorbic acid provides photobiological protection of the lens by preventing oxidation of the sulfhydryl groups and is also necessary for the collagen synthesis. Vitamin C is found in high quantities in the lens and aqueous fluid of the eye. Both vitamin E and selenium are involved with cellular metabolism of sulfur. Vitamin E has antioxidant properties, and, with selenium, it protects against red blood cell hemolysis and prevents the action of peroxidase on unsaturated bonds in cell membranes. Zinc helps protect the eye from the damages of oxidative stress by upregulating the antioxidant defense system. Chromium helps improve ocular circulation and lens clarity.<\/p>\n

      Dosage and administration<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      One capsule two times a day after food or as directed by the physician. Swallow with a glass of water. Do not exceed the recommended intake.<\/p>\n

      Contraindications<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      The product should be avoided in patients who are allergic to or hypersensitive to any of its ingredients. Please consult your physician before the administration of this product.<\/p>\n

      Side effects<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      Generally, it is well tolerated but at higher doses it may cause gastrointestinal discomfort like nausea or heartburn.<\/p>\n

      Warning & Precautions<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      Precaution to be taken in patients with pregnancy, during lactation, and in patients with history of renal calculi.<\/p>\n

      Interactions<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      Concomitant intake of drugs such as Colestipol, Mineral oil, Orlistat and Cholestyramine with lutein\/zeaxanthin may decrease the absorption of these carotenoids. Concomitant intake of Nutritional supplements such as beta-carotene, medium-chain triglycerides and Pectin with lutein\/zeaxanthin may decrease the absorption of these carotenoids.<\/p>\n
